No, plates are issued sequentially from A 001A.
What rights come with Adelaide Grand Final plate?
Reallocation rights are not included, however can be purchased for an additional $54.
Can I transfer my Adelaide Grand Final number plate?
The plate cannot be transferred between owners unless the plate is allocated to a vehicle and the registration of the vehicle is being transferred to the new owner. Any rights to an Adelaide Grand Final plate are relinquished once a vehicle has been transferred with the plates still allocated.
How do I order Adelaide Grand Final plate?
You can order your Adelaide Grand Final plate online or in person.
To order your plates in person, go to any Service SA Customer Service Centre and you can collect your plates immediately.
You can choose to collect your plates at a Service SA Customer Service Centre (CSC) or have them mailed to you for a $20 postage fee.
Label requirements for hydrogen, electric and gas powered vehicles
You must include a warning label on your number plate if your vehicle:
- is gas fuelled, hydrogen or electric powered (including hybrids); and
- was built or modified after 1 January 2019.
These labels assist emergency services with easily and quickly identifying vehicles that have been powered by alternative fuels. This will allow them to take any necessary precautions when providing assistance.

$267 once off fee
Optional - additional $54 for reallocation rights.
Entitles the owner to reallocate the plate to another vehicle registered in the same name.
Reallocation rights can only be purchased at a Service SA Centre after the plate is already under the owner's name.
Without reallocation rights, the owner will not have the option to retain the plates should the vehicle change ownership.
